<dd><p></p><p style="margin: 0">The Assistant Director provides leadership for student learning assistance programming and targeted interventions that promote student success. retention, and completion at CCBC. Reporting to the Director of Student Retention and Transition Services. the Assistant Director manages tutoring. supplemental </p><p style="margin: 0">instruction, academic coaching, and related support services while supervising a professional staff team. This position collaborates with faculty and campus </p><p style="margin: 0">partners to align services with student needs and advance institutional student success goals. </p></dd>
<dt><h2>Minimum Requirements</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><p style="margin: 0;">Master’s degree required. A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in supporting student learning and success initiatives with the proven ability in program development, assessment, and continuous improvement and a strong understanding of best practices in student retention and learning in higher education, including a minimum of three (3) years of direct supervisory experience, required.</p><br><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;" data-pasted="true"><span style=" color: inherit;">Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. <dt><h2>Class Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><div style="margin: 0">1.Oversee the planning and allocation of resources to effectively staff and accomplish the department's productivity goals, including planning and evaluating to improve the efficiency of processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output for all stakeholders, including students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners.</div><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">2.Collaborate with the director to develop new programs, initiatives, and strategies consistent with the College's mission.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">3.Document all policies and procedures, assess data, and strengthen</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">operational practices to ensure business operations are meeting student needs.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">4.Supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">5.Prepare, analyze, and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as </p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">requested.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">6.Serve as liaison between college departments, vendors, government</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">agencies and/or other external organizations.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">7.Serve on established departmental committees and/or ad hoc</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">committees, task forces or other bodies pertinent to student success.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">8.Serve as Administrator on Duty responsibilities as needed.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">9.Manage operating budget for assigned division or function, as required.</p><p style="margin: 0; text-align: justify">10.Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours.</p></dd>
<dt><h2>Position Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><table border="0" width="672"><tbody><tr><td valign="top" style="width: 100%"><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Provide oversight and direction to student supports (such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, and other interventions), including managing the department's overall operational, budgetary, technological, and financial responsibilities and activities. </li></ol><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Assume responsibility for researching best practices and evidence-based programs, policies, and procedures to support student success and retention. </li></ol><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Guide holistic approaches to support services for students at risk of not completing academic goals to increase access, belonging, retention, and satisfaction across all programs. </li></ol><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Advise and assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic. processes and initiatives designed to foster student success and retention white fully supporting CCBC's mission, vision, and values. </li><li>Design short-term and long-range strategies for student retention initiatives to support students and empower them through completion fully. </li></ol><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Collaborate with students, faculty and staff to ensure seamless services for new and continuing students. </li><li>Participate in internal and external professional development activities pertinent to learning assistance programs, academic coaching, student persistence and retention. </li></ol><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Collect and evaluate data and provide follow-up interventions, including preparing reports on academic support outcomes and retention.</li></ol>Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive.
