Patient Financial Counselor
Description
The Home Health Insurance Specialist facilitates requests for insurance authorization for Home Health patients. Reviews cases on admission and throughout the home health certification to determine authorization needs of the patient receiving home health services. The goal of the position is to facilitate comprehensive patient management by ensuring all services to be provided are covered for reimbursement. These efforts enhance customer service to payers and patients with a single point of contact.

Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: Educational coursework in medical terminology or Equivalent knowledge acquired through on-the job-experience.
- In compliance with the Providence Health and Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties upon hire.
- 2 years Recent experience in health care billing/insurance, unit secretary or related experience in a clinical setting or home services.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
