Job Description

The Opportunity

Our Molecular Biology Team is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist I who will have the opportunity to design and clone constructs for RNA production. In this role, you will have the opportunity to spearhead the optimization of plasmid production workflows and support plasmid production both internally and in partnership with external vendors.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support Plasmid production workflows
  • Support optimization of E. Coli growth for plasmid production
  • Support development of new cloning strategies and maximizing cloning efficiency
  • Assist in the design and molecular cloning of DNA constructs for mRNA production
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and analysis of results
  • Participate in team meetings and communication of results
  • Maintain adherence to rigorous laboratory standards, encompassing meticulous documentation in an online laboratory notebook system and stringent personal safety measures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelors degree in molecular biology, biology, genetics, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques related to cloning and plasmid production in E. coli
  • 2+ years of industry experience will be strongly preferred
  • Experience with mRNA production is preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Motivated to learn and ask questions
