In this role, you will design, build, and evolve Mastercards cloud platformson either AWS, Azure, or both, depending on your background.<br>You will deliver secure, scalable, automated cloud capabilities that accelerate development across Mastercard. This role requires deep cloud platform expertise, strong engineering fundamentals, and excellent leadership skills.<br><br>f AWSFocused<br><br>Design and maintain a multiaccount AWS platform using services such as Organizations, VPC, IAM, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, MSK, Glue, EMR, Lambda, and Route 53.<br>Build AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.<br>Implement secure connectivity patterns (Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Direct Connect).<br>Configure platform governance using AWS Control Tower, SCPs, IAM, and Landing Zones.<br>Improve AWS platform lifecycle, operational maturity, and automation.<br><br><br>If AzureFocused<br><br>Implement automated provisioning of Mastercard's Azure environment using Terraform and Bicep (Azures native IaC language).<br>Design, develop, and deploy software systems using Azure services (VNet, AKS, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Event Hub, Data Factory, etc.).<br>Lead architectural decisions and platform design patterns for Azure cloud solutions.<br>Implement Azure governance, policies, and security best practices.<br>Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues.<br>Support application teams with Azure scaling, performance tuning, automation, and selfservice enablement.<br><br><br>Shared (AWS or Azure)<br><br>Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, design reviews, and crossteam technical decisions.<br>Champion reliability, automation, and DevOps/SRE best practices.<br>Drive incident response, rootcause analysis, and continuous improvement.<br>Mentor engineers and elevate technical excellence across cloud teams.<br>Ensure cloud best practices for logging, monitoring, and alerting.<br>Build reusable patterns, guardrails, and selfservice capabilities to accelerate development.<br><br><br>All About You<br>Required Qualifications<br><br>7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or largescale distributed systems.<br>Deep handson experience with AWS OR Azure (either expertise is acceptable).<br>Strong proficiency with InfrastructureasCode:<br><br>AWS: CDK / CloudFormation<br>Azure: Terraform AND/OR Bicep<br><br><br>Strong understanding of cloud networking (VPC/VNet, private endpoints, hybrid connectivity).<br>Experience with CI/CD and build/deployment tooling (Jenkins, CodePipeline, GitHub/BitBucket, Artifactory, SonarQube).<br>Strong programming background (Python, Java, Go) and scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).<br>Experience designing and troubleshooting highly available, distributed systems.<br>Ability to debug, optimize, automate, and drive engineering excellence.<br>Strong communication and leadership skills.<br><br><br>Preferred Qualifications<br><br>AWS or Azure cloud certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps, etc.).<br>Experience with container orchestration (EKS or AKS).<br>Experience implementing AWS Control Tower or Azure Landing Zone equivalents.<br>Experience with data engineering workloads (Glue/EMR or Data Factory/Synapse).<br>Familiarity with Windows and Linux internals.<br>Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.<h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Mastercard is a merit-based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
