<span style="font-family: Arial"><h2 style="text-align: center">TEACHING ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR</h2><h3 style="text-align: center">Architecture &amp; Landscape Architecture</h3></span><p style="line-height: normal"><span><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">The School of Architecture and the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invite applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track position as a Teaching Assistant/Associate Professor.<span>&nbsp; </span>Appointment at the rank of Teaching Associate Professor will be considered for candidates with an established record of accomplishments in teaching and professional engagement.</font></span></span></p><p style="line-height: normal"><span style="font-family: Arial"><b><span><font size="2">Responsibilities:</font></span></b></span></p><p style="line-height: normal"><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2"> <span>The position’s teaching obligations include one design studio in Architecture, one design studio in Landscape Architecture, and two seminars/lectures and/or courses in the core curriculum per academic year, to be determined in consultation with both programs. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the civic life of the units, college, University, and community through service and engagement. </span><br> <br> <b><span>Qualifications:</span></b></font></span></p><p style="line-height: normal"><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial">Requirements include (1) a professional degree in Architecture and/or Landscape Architecture; (2) a demonstrated record of excellence working within the disciplines of <i>both </i>Architecture and Landscape Architecture; </span><span style="font-family: Arial">&nbsp;</span>3) a demonstrated record of design studio teaching that relates to both architecture and landscape architecture; and 4) evidence of promise in professional engagement based firmly on design as an emerging and evolving approach to meeting the unique challenges of our moment. <span><span>&nbsp;</span>Additional preferred qualifications include demonstration of a broad range of design inquiry and the capacity to bridge disciplines or scales; contribution to and engagement in contemporary design culture, including issues of design justice; and </span><span style="color: #000000">experience in incorporating technology into pedagogical approaches, including designing and implementing hybrid format courses.</span></font></span></p><p style="line-height: normal"><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2"><span style="font-family: Arial">Social justice dimensions are a key component of our program offerings. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 8/16/2026. The pay range for current faculty in similar positions include: Assistant Professor $64,000 - $73,000; Associate Professor $73,000 - $85,000. Salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
