<h2 style="text-align: center">Electrician, Direct Digital Control - Facilities &amp; Services</h2><h4>Job Summary</h4><p>Employees at this level work in the Recommissioning/Retro Commissioning group and are highly skilled specialists in their classification who are able to measure the efficiency of building systems and provide customized solutions. The individual needs to be proficient in troubleshooting, repairs, maintaining, and installing Systems and Controls equipment on campus and perform routine maintenance as assigned.</p><h4>Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and evaluate direct digital control systems, VFDs, card access, fire and security alarm systems, ADA, and any associated electrical, fiber optic and electronic controls on other equipment. Evaluate, inspect, and calibrate HVAC systems and equipment.</li><li>Review/analyze HVAC systems and identify and documents deficiencies in existing systems. Assists in prioritizing and determining the most appropriate corrective work to resolve maintenance and operational needs. Our goals are to improve space conditions, provide preventive maintenance and promote energy conservation.</li><li>Proactive in identifying and bringing forward energy conservation items and practices.</li><li>Prepare and or review small project plans; provide cost estimates based on plans, and specifications; reviews site of proposed work to determine parameters and constraints. Assists in developing project scope, budget and obtaining quotes. Assist Capital Project Commissioning and Inspection group and Engineering staff as directed, conducting inspections and calibration verification for capital projects.</li><li>Create current system diagrams for electrical systems and revise based on new design and submit to record management for permanent documentation.</li><li>Give overall holistic building overview which may include ventilation, pipefitting, electrical, controls, and building envelope aspects to identify and reduce overall energy use.</li><li>Coordinate day to day work scheduling directly with building managers and building occupants.</li><li>Maintain notes and records of changes made during recommissioning process in each building. Including documentation to be entered into AIM.</li><li>Assists in the assignment and direction of work, coordinate own work scope to align with other crafts and trades work, verifies and approves and attains material requisitions of employees being supervised. Direct other crafts on work identified that falls outside shop’s classification (i.e. faulty breakers, motor issues, lighting issues, UPS’s, etc).</li><li>Provide training to others within the group as needed. Provide trade specific training to ReCx electricians new to the group.</li><li>Keep up to date on Siemens and Alpha controls training to troubleshoot and calibrate and correct issues with BAS controls.</li><li>Support the mission, vision, and guiding principles of F&amp;S. High school diploma or equivalent. </p><p>2. Experience sufficient to qualify as a journeyman Electrician, with a minimum of five (5) years (60 months) of actual work in the trade, including apprenticeship or vocational training. The trade for this purpose shall include work normally performed by Electricians i.e. installing, maintaining, and/or repairing electrical systems, generators, transformers, motors and other electrical/electronic controls, electrical switchboard and other apparatus utilizing electricity, electrical, electronic and direct digital control systems, fire and alarm systems, and associated electrical, electronic and fiber optic equipment.</p><h4>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</h4><ul><li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Electrical Code and University Building Standards.</li><li>Electrical knowledge to recognize unsafe or faulty conditions in construction and utilization of electricity.</li><li>Extensive experience reading, interpreting, and working from electrical drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams and blueprints.</li><li>Professional skills to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment of various types.</li><li>Ability to perform all tasks associated with skilled journeymen electricians.</li><li>Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and AIM.</li><li>Working knowledge of safety procedures.</li><li>Ability to follow instructions and directions.</li></ul><h4>Appointment Information</h4><p>This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 1262 - Electrician position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 5/11/2026.
