About the Role We are excited to offer an opening to join Springer Nature as an Associate Publisher in our Mathematics journal editorial group. In this role, you will manage and strategically develop a portfolio of high-quality journals in pure and applied mathematics, working closely with editors, authors, and the wider research community. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your publishing career in an international and dynamic environment while contributing to the advancement of scientific discovery. Role Responsibilities * Portfolio management: Manage and strategically develop a portfolio of 10-12 journals in pure and applied mathematics * Content acquisition: Acquire high-quality content in close collaboration with external journal editors * Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with authors, editors, scientific societies, and the broader research community * Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure the smooth running and growth of your journals * Performance monitoring: Track KPIs and contribute to achieving annual targets (submissions, publications, turnaround times) * Representation: Represent your portfolio at conferences, meetings, and events (in-person and virtual) Experience, Skills & Qualifications Essential: * Academic degree in mathematics, computer science, or the physical sciences (ideally mathematics) * Fluency in English (written and spoken) * Strong digital literacy and confidence using online tools and platforms * Excellent communication and influencing skills * Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments * Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership * Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities * Willingness and ability to travel internationally Desirable: * Previous editorial or publishing experience is an advantage but not essential At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
