The Technology Execution Management Performance Office (TEMPO) supports Technology, Data, & Operations (TD&O) in all business management activities. This includes the aggregation of IT strategy, demand, funding, delivery, workforce support, cost & supplier management and more. Each capability has a leader responsible for setting the strategy, execution, and operational remit of their division.
While the leaders set their strategies, driving transformation will require focus and commitment to bring those strategies to life. The Business Transformation Lead is responsible for shaping, launching, and industrializing strategies for each leader, helping Truist transform our services to deliver scale, at pace with quality.
The role partners closely with divisional leaders, their teams, and cross impacted parties to translate strategy into current state analysis, target state, gaps, and roadmaps. They will drive the development of repeatable product launch playbooks, assist teams in developing epics, features, and stories. Ultimately, the role serves as a central transformation leader, enabling functional teams to focus on strategy and outcomes while ensuring disciplined delivery, dependency management, and benefits realization across the organization.

1. Partner with TEMPO leaders to understand their strategies, identify candidates for transformation, and drive such transformation.
2. Partner with the Head of TEMPO Horizon to prioritize select initiatives for transformation.
3. Coordinate the aggregation of products and services into single product portal.
4. Partner with process re-engineering to re-think antiquated processes, building for the future.
5. Partner with TEMPO Automation lead to automate select services, driving maturity from manual to enhanced visibility, workflow, automation, and in time, AI, while delighting our customers.
6. Develop repeatable product launch playbooks, industrializing how we repeat product launch, or service transformation, in a repeatable fashion.
7. Coach and mentor teammates on how to execute transformation.
8. Facilitate working sessions to launch select transformation initiatives, handing off 2nd and future product maturity iterations to internal teams, once bootstrapped.
9. Partner with Organizational Change Management (OCM) and Communications on product and service launch, ensuring proper adoption.
10. Monitor adoption, and ability to realize value in line with business cases through enhancements.
11. Monitor connectivity between realized value and TD&O Key Results Indicators (KRIs), demonstrating measurable maturity over time.
12. Operate as a leader in TEMPO Horizon creating bandwidth for TEMPO Horizon leaders.
13. Ultimately, drive TEMPO Horizon to a higher level of CMMI maturity through the transformation of our products and services, over time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead team in providing first line of defense risk expertise for business unit segments assigned in the execution of enterprise risk and operational risk programs
2. Lead the creation and facilitation of Business Unit Risk Committee and other governance related activities.
3. Lead the business and risk advisors in regulatory interactions through routine continuous monitoring activity or formal exams.
4. Coordinate the execution of non-control-based risk programs for the business unit.
5. Partner with the 2LOD risk program teams and the Enterprise Control & Change Office to drive consistency in risk execution within business unit.
6. Lead the execution of risk reporting needs within the business unit for risk execution activities where reporting is not provided by the Enterprise Control & Change Office or 2LOD risk programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in business, Finance or science/academic field, or equivalent education and related training or experience.
2. 8+ years of progressive related experience in risk or audit functions supporting risk execution and governance activities
3. Strong facilitation and coordination skills to partner with various stakeholders on governance documentation
4. High attention to detail and ability to think critically and strategically, multi-task, and drive change.
5. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
6. Strong meeting management, conflict management, and executive presentation skills.
7. Results-oriented and demonstrated ability to work under difficult time constraints and required delivery dates.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
9. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • 15+ years progressive related experience in managing large, complex transformations.

  • Experience at a super-regional or larger financial institution performing a similar role, either internally or as a consultant.

  • Demonstrated experience in management consulting with a focus on transformation.

  • Demonstrated experience in process re-engineering and automation

  • Superior understanding of business and technology organization, resources, priorities, needs, and processes.

  • Executive level verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, focused on business management or technology initiatives.

  • Advanced Business Degree (MBA, MS, MA, etc.) or commensurate experience with a lens on financial acumen.

  • Management consulting background preferred.

  • Management of Agile & Product organizations, with preferred experience participating in product transformation.
