Assistant Director, Welding Technology
<div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active fr-view" style="margin:2px"> <dl> <dt><h2>Class Description</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><div style="font-style: normal;" data-pasted="true"><p>The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the <strong>Assistant Director of Welding and Technical Training</strong>, with a strong emphasis on advancing and expanding our welding programs. We are looking for an industry-experienced professional who is passionate about elevating welding education, strengthening workforce pathways, and supporting the operational and instructional success of our technical training initiatives.</p><p>In this role, you will oversee staff, manage day-to-day operations, and contribute to the growth of programs across welding technology programs. Five years (5) experience in construction or industrial sectors, trades, or technical program management required. Experience in any of the following welding roles is highly preferred: supervisor, inspector, engineer, specialist, instructor, or technical training program leader. Of the five years’ experience two of those years must be in a supervisory capacity. Licensure/certification related to education, workforce development, or program management preferred. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale</span></strong><span style=" color: inherit;">. </span></p><div style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0px; text-align: center;"><span style=" color: inherit;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;">For Best Consideration Please Apply By: April 19, 2026</strong></span></div></div><br></dd> <dt><h2>Class Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><ol style="margin-left: -0.25in; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li><span style="color: inherit">Provide direct supervision and evaluation to assigned staff.</span></li><li>Coordinate a functional process within assigned College department or division.</li><li>Design, develop and implement department programs or initiatives.</li><li>Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, and requirements.</li><li>Maintain department records and files, as required.</li><li>Facilitate and attend meetings, as required.</li><li>Recruit, select, supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.</li><li>Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.</li><li>Manage program expenses efficiently and economically.</li><li>Identify access and analyze program data in the college’s enterprise system.</li><li>Develop new courses (including meeting accreditation and/or certification standards) and course series.</li><li>Provide superior customer service and problem-solving to both students and contract training clients.</li><li>Maintain robust connections/relationships with relevant certifying organizations and agencies.</li></ol></dd> <dt><h2>Position Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><ol style="margin-left: -0.25in; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li><span style="color: inherit">Manage day-to-day operations of the Welding Technology training programs.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Plan, schedule, and manage the college’s Welding Technology classes </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Accurately forecast, and track, annual unit revenue and FTE generation.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Develop and achieve personal and business goals, and budgets that contribute to the unit and divisional goals and business plans.</span></li><li>Target and close contracts with existing and potential training customers.</li><li>Manage vendor provided training partnerships.</li><li>Manage the overall operation of the College’s Welding Technology training facilities.</li><li><span style="color: inherit">Recruit, select, train and supervise related staff.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Represent and promote the college at affinity groups, professional and business associations and community and networking events.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Develop and maintain partnerships with all relevant stakeholders.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Counsel and advise students.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Lead staff to manage supply of instructional material, student materials and equipment.</span></li></ol></dd> </dl>
