NEW ORLEANS, LA. - Students from Southern University at New Orleans’ (SUNO) Students for the Prevention and Education of Substance Abuse (SPESA) gathered to donate gifts to residents from Family House, a rehabilitation facility for women and their family members with addictions. SPESA donated the gifts in early December.
SPESA annually donates gifts to Family House and other facilities like it. This is the first donation that the SUNO student organization has made since Katrina. SPESA’s president is Artemus McFarland and the vice president is Latasha Scott. Ebani Edwards, parenting specialist for Family House, was present for the donation.
