Hundreds of college students traveled to Florida's capital to learn about renewable energy and send a political message.
It was all a part of the 8th annual southeast student renewable energy conference.
It took place on FAMU's campus all weekend.
Guess speakers included FAMU Interim President Larry Robinson and Florida Representative Michelle Rehwinkel-Vasilinda.
Students addressed some of the pressing energy and environmental issues of the day.
Sunday they rallied to the capitol building hoping to send a message that it's important to create a sustainable environment now and for the future.
"It's great to see all these different students here, be involved and get active in their environment," said FAMU student, Anthony Wald.
FAMU is the only HBCU to host this conference. It was organized by the Southern Energy Network.
