Southeastern Louisiana 6, Alcorn State 0
HAMMOND, La. - Southern University and Alcorn State University fell 7-0 and 6-0 respectively to Southeastern Louisiana yesterday at the Southeastern Tennis Complex Wednesday evening.
SU came to Hammond with just five players and defaulted on the No. 3 doubles court and No. 6 singles court. The Lions clinched the doubles point at No. 1, as Villarreal and junior Adriana Castillo defeated Laura Syori and Kendall Bunch, 8-1.
ALCN and Southeastern agreed to forego doubles play. Six straight set singles victories for the Lions ensured doubles play would be unnecessary.
