"We are excited for the opportunity to drill down into the unique concerns and opportunities of the HBCU community related to online learning," said Kathleen Ives, acting CEO and executive director, Sloan-C. "The Summit will offer universities with similar goals and interests for online learning the chance to network and build resource capacity. What's more, this one-day event will serve as a terrific lead-in to our ALN conference, which celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year. Attendees who participate in both events can expect to come away with valuable connections and fresh ideas that they can share with colleagues and immediately put into practice to advance their online learning programs."
"We know that a large number of students being served through online education want an HBCU experience," said Cristi Ford, Summit chair. "Our goal is to provide an informative, solutions-oriented approach on increasing the online footprint offered by the HBCU community. And we are delighted that Sloan-C is committed to exploring the needs of HBCU constituents and issues of this unique community."
Robert Blaine, interim associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Jackson State University, will deliver the keynote address titled, "Reaching the Connected Learner through Disruptive Innovation."
