HBCU Records Set to Release First Mixtape During HBCU Records' Week Fall 2017 (2187 hits)

HBCU Records, a student-run indie record label formed by the University's Curb Institute, is preparing to release its first mixtape fall 2017. The mixtape, which is currently untitled will feature, Daniel "DJ DGlove" Glover, a student from the College of Liberal Arts who will mix on the production and L. Paul Jackson, Jr., a Mass Communications student that will provide vocals. Both B-CU students were the first artists signed to HBCU Records in 2016. Based on the students' excellent songwriting and production teams, Paul and DJ DGlove were subsequently signed to artist development deals by Curb Records. The mixtape project will be co-produced by B-CU Mass Communications Professor, Isaac Caputo and Curb Institute staff member Kris Browne. The project's release date is scheduled during activities associated with the inaugural event, "HBCU Records' Week" that will be hosted on campus in October 2017. The mixtape will be released digitally and the marketing and radio promotions plans will be developed by B-CU students for HBCU Records.
