I’m not really gonna do a long intro, but I’m the same girl that got into Howard and Spelman. Unfortunately, Spelman didn’t give me ANY type of money and Howard only gave me tuition, so bye.
BUT, there is a school in Texas [PVAMU] that is giving me everything. Tuition, room, board, fees, food, books, EVERYTHING y’all. I just gotta pay the enrollment fee. And on top of that, they want me to apply to their Honors program. This is fantastic, and I am honored to have such a rare opportunity.
However, this was not my top school choice. After Howard, Clark-Atlanta was my go-to. They would also give me a “full ride” (according to the organization I’m going through to apply to them), but I wouldn’t find out all that that entails until I send my final transcript in June.
I have to make a decision for PVAMU by March 1st or else the scholarship is gone.
I want everything PV has to offer, but it wasn’t the atmosphere I was anticipating. It’s SUPER rural and I can’t find too much about it online about their academics. Clark has the energy I want and I know more about their academics, but I highly doubt they’d give me a chance to apply to any honors program that they have and I’d have to pay for some things.
Anybody who has gone to PVAMU or CAU, please help! Or anybody with experience at an HBCU. Thank you!
Edit: Poly-sci major!
